Real-time recording & editing tools

Real-time Wave Editing
Making Waves includes an onboard wave editor that can be used in real-time for general audio editing tasks. A loop-tailing tool is also provided allowing quick and easy original loop creation.

Audio Recording

Any audio source can recorded into Making Waves AUDIO via the line in or mic in of your host PC's soundcard. Making Waves PRO and STUDIO are capable of multi-track recording up to a maximum of 8 simultaneous channels, this is ideal for use with multi-channel soundcards and in particular offers a great platform for recording bands etc where more than one "live" instrument and or vocalist needs to be captured at once.

Recordings can be made in a number of ways including "synced to song" for "live" and via the "auto cue" method which is great for creating original sample sets from external instruments.

Buffer Recording		Groove Extraction / Modulation
Ever thought "that would have made a great sample" with buffer record mode Making Waves is sampling a preset amount of audio data all the time so when you have the above thought you just need to press record and its already saved as a .wav file!		The modulation characteristics of any sample loop can be extracted and then used to form the groove of any DSP audio effect, eg the modulation of a drum loop can be saved and then added to a distortion effect on a bassline loop allowing the groove of the drum loop to be added to the "feel" of that particular bassline.
Sample Recycling		Cut Off / Break-beat Tool
Making Waves offers two very fast ways of recycling audio loops. The "Timesplice" method allows the sample to be broken down into its component parts over a timeline and then gives the user the ability to re-construct the sample in any order they wish. "Bar Editing" can be done directly in the sequencer window and allows a loop already loaded into the sequencer to be re-arranged a bar at a time eg bar 1 of a 4 bar loop could be repeated 4 times instead of simply playing back bars 1,2,3,4 any bar can be played back in any order, great for adding minor changes to musical events.		This tool allows very simple yet highly effective breaks in playback to be applied to audio samples and note sequences creating a "break-beat" effect. Delay Toolbox Making Waves contains a whole host of delay tool presets.
